"Sing" - My Chemical Romance

　　認識這首歌是在 Glee（歡樂合唱團）Season 2 "Comeback" 這一集 (Episode#13)，指導老師 Will 給團員出了一項主題為 "Anthem"（頌歌）的作業，沒想到最後是死對頭 Sue 提供的曲子最切合主題。我後來去找了 My Chemical Romance 的原版來聽，覺得歌詞很棒，是很有感染力的一首曲子。不過樹大招風，在 Glee 翻唱過後，引來了一些「保守份子」的攻擊（不意外，詳情參見【附一】）。這首歌的MV應該算十八禁了，可惜我找不到 Glee 中這首歌曲的片段，只能在文末放上歌曲連結。 Glee 原聲帶附的歌詞並不完全正確，而網路上的歌詞文字也多少有些出入，尤其是 "Clened-up" 那一段，聽了好幾次原版也還是無法肯定，後來決定還是按照我自己的詮釋來吧！XD  所以不確保這是完全正確版，僅供參考（如欲轉載請附上此處連結）。

【註 1】此處多數歌詞作 "brings"，不算有爭議，不過個人認為既然前一句的 "means" 已經有別於第一段的 "needs"，"brings" 一字跟著轉換會比較好，我覺得用 "breeds" 一字來呼應 "needs" 的韻腳也不賴，而且還可以相對襯托出 "kill" 這個動詞，是故此一更改純屬個人偏好。XD

【註 2】部分版本歌詞又作 "railways"，然而我覺得採用 "webways" 能產生更加諷刺的興味。

【註 3】"generation" 一字除了「世代」又可翻做「生成」，其實相對於前面的 "motivation"（動力）而言，此處若解作「空無一物（一無是處）的生成」，續接後兩句（到「產物」）也很合理通順，但我選擇了「空無的世代」這個解釋，是想要呈現一種更巨大深沉的無奈與悲哀。另，其實我覺得此句在 "generation" 和 "nothing" 之間需要插入 "of"，不過還是別太講究文法了，否則還要挑出這段省略主詞、be動詞和連接詞的地方也太累了，BTW，這段的鋪陳方式倒讓我聯想起音樂劇《吉屋出租》裡的 "La Vie Boheme"。

【註 4】此處有許多版本歌詞都將 "talk about" 另起一句，但其實我認為它應該跟 "answer" 一樣是接在 "I refuse to" 之後，是拒絕做的行為，而不是解成原形動詞開頭的祈使句。此外，部分版本歌詞作 "passer"（過客），我認為並無不可，不過會牽扯到下一句的歌詞和解讀方式，若按照我的解讀方式，"the ones that want to get away" 就不免成為過客，那麼既然拒絕去談論過客，又為何要為了想當過客的人而書寫呢？如果使用了 "passer" 解作「過客」，下一句的 "Wrote it" 勢必在邏輯上站不住腳，不過這也正好是歌詞版本的另一個分歧點。

【註 5】原本我很猶豫這處的 "Wrote it" 是歌詞有誤，在 "answer", "talk" 這兩個原形動詞後忽然變成過去式實在很奇怪，既不能當成祈使句，也不能看作拒絕做的事情，但是其他版本用的 "Ruling", "Rooting", "Rolling" 都不甚恰當（而且我認為母音比較偏近 [o] 而非 [u]），或改成 "Rule it", "Root it", "Roll it" 無論是解成祈使句還是接續 "I refuse to" 的動作也都過於牽強，所以我後來決定把這句當成省略了主詞 "I"，解讀成寫下這首歌或這些文字的動機。
